Here we are sledding at Eagle Mountain Golf Course on New Year's Day, 2009. There were only a few injuries involved! It was a lot of fun.

Just A Proud Mom!

Last week I went to Russ' Parent Teacher Conference and had a proud moment that I want to brag about. As I sat down with one of his teachers and told her who my son was, she did the hand over her heart thing, and said that he was such a great kid! I nodded and agreed, of course. She went on to tell me how impressed she was with how Russ would bring a disabled student in a wheelchair down to her class each day from first period. His teacher said that he never complained and was never embarrassed to do it. She said that she was 'honored' to know Russ and thought that he was very kind.

She told me all this, thinking that I already knew about it. Well, I had no idea. I was so proud of Russ' simple act of kindness. He didn't think it was anything big worth telling us about. I was touched by his thoughtfulness and reminded me that little things aren't always little! Good job, Russ!!!

Lot's of Sports

So, it's been a while since we posted anything! Ya think?

The guys were getting ready for games and practices, and here they are!
We've been really busy with baseball and soccer lately.
Ike is still playing on his Utah Rush soccer team and Russ is playing on the Davis Heat baseball team. Jake is playing rec soccer, so most of our nights are filled up with sports. I love it! They do a great job, and it's so fun to watch them play!

What You Get For Loving Jake......

So, the school calls to tell me that Jake was running to give Ike a 'HUG', and they slammed heads. Everyone was okay, but Ike's eye got nailed by Jake's head. Jake is 'okay'!!!

If you look closely, you CAN'T see where Jake's head hit Ike. However, you can see Jake's favorite way to sit.

Save of the Season

We didn't get a picture of it, but Ike made an absolutely awesome save. The ball was kicked on a line headed for the top shelf of the goal, Ike jumped up hit the ball with his with his hands, knocked the ball into the air, kept his eye on the ball stayed with it and caught it as it came down.

Ike has done a fantastic job in goal this year as well as in the field. He has started every game at goalie, and then played in the field in the second half. This last game he played the whole game at goal. His team won 5 - 1!

Ike has improved in making saves and then figuring out who could do the most damage down field, these are a couple of pictures of him surevying and executing his plan.

TEAM RUSH

We don't have any pictures of the fans but we are so grateful to Russell and Jake for always wanting to go and support Ike. Neither of them has missed a game this season. Russ is always yelling out words of encouragement to Ike, it means a lot to us and Ike..... Jake is generally tackling someone, jumping off of bleachers, or having to find secluded place to relieve himself.

The race

On Saturday, April 26, 2008 Farmington Elementary had a 5K and 1K race for the students and whoever else wanted to do it. It was a fundraiser for the school and it was really fun.

Mike and Erik ran in the 5K and Jake did the 1K. Russ had a scout activity, so he wasn't there. Mike and Ike did the race in 28 minutes flat! I thought Erik did so good! This was his first big race. He placed fourth in his age group.

Jake did the 1K which is just over 1/2 of a mile. He thought it was great and he ended up placing first in his age group! He was soooo excited and we were really happy for him.

After the race, they had a drawing and Jake won a Lagoon Day Pass. They had some really cool prizes, but Erik ended up winning scrapbooking supplies. Boring!!!

After it was all over, we were really proud of how well Ike and Jake did!
