Save of the Season

We didn't get a picture of it, but Ike made an absolutely awesome save. The ball was kicked on a line headed for the top shelf of the goal, Ike jumped up hit the ball with his with his hands, knocked the ball into the air, kept his eye on the ball stayed with it and caught it as it came down.

Ike has done a fantastic job in goal this year as well as in the field. He has started every game at goalie, and then played in the field in the second half. This last game he played the whole game at goal. His team won 5 - 1!

Ike has improved in making saves and then figuring out who could do the most damage down field, these are a couple of pictures of him surevying and executing his plan.

TEAM RUSH

We don't have any pictures of the fans but we are so grateful to Russell and Jake for always wanting to go and support Ike. Neither of them has missed a game this season. Russ is always yelling out words of encouragement to Ike, it means a lot to us and Ike..... Jake is generally tackling someone, jumping off of bleachers, or having to find secluded place to relieve himself.

The race

On Saturday, April 26, 2008 Farmington Elementary had a 5K and 1K race for the students and whoever else wanted to do it. It was a fundraiser for the school and it was really fun.

Mike and Erik ran in the 5K and Jake did the 1K. Russ had a scout activity, so he wasn't there. Mike and Ike did the race in 28 minutes flat! I thought Erik did so good! This was his first big race. He placed fourth in his age group.

Jake did the 1K which is just over 1/2 of a mile. He thought it was great and he ended up placing first in his age group! He was soooo excited and we were really happy for him.

After the race, they had a drawing and Jake won a Lagoon Day Pass. They had some really cool prizes, but Erik ended up winning scrapbooking supplies. Boring!!!

After it was all over, we were really proud of how well Ike and Jake did!

Slam Jam

Russ, Erik, and Jake have been playing basketball in the basement. They decided to get the camera and take pictures of themselves slamming the ball. Here are some of their results.

Also, they want to print the pictures into a poster size so that they can hang them in their room. Remember.....it's a picture of themselves enlarged to poster size!! Russ agrees....kind of dorkie!

It's quite entertaining and they are loving it.

Jake's Great!

So just something funny Jake said the other day.......

Mike's sister, Andrea, had picked Jake up from kindergarten and as they were driving, he noticed the flag was half way down. So he asked Andrea why the flag was like that. Andrea explained that to show respect to President Hinckley people lowered their flags in honor of him. She told him that when important people die, people lower their flags to respect that very important person. Jake responded with....."so when I die, people will lower their flags?" 'Hopefully' is what I say!

By the way, this is a picture of Jake ice skating at the Rec Center. It's actually a picture of him about to face plant! He was 'okay'.

Brrrrrrrr!

This is on Erik's birthday, December 22, 2007. We went skiing up at Brighton in the freezing temperatures. Mike got a picture at the top of one of the lifts of the guys. Mike took them up there because they didn't want to sit in the lodge with their numbed feet, frozen hand, complaining mother! I tried to get Jake to stay with me, and he said, "This is not skiing! This is stupid!" So he left with Mike. Fine with me.

One picture is Jake coming down the mountain. All three boys are quite good at skiing and I'm so glad. They didn't mind the cold and they had a blast with their dad!

I decided that day that I'm a fair weather skier. Since I don't ski that well, at least the temps shouldn't be 3 degrees!

All in all, we had a fun day and Erik had a great birthday!

Our New Kitchen (sort of)

Most of you have already seen our new kitchen, but those of you who haven't........here it is. We love it and we're so glad that we remodeled!
